![]() Poke finder has an IV calculator under Tools -> IV Calculator, there’s also a fine ones hosted at serebii and a few other places online.EonTimer is entirely Windows based. It’s an iterative process, you’ll get closer and closer assuming you correctly identify which frame you did hit, but once the timing is dialed in and you’re hitting your target, that calibration should carry over to the other SIDs (assuming you didn’t get lucky and land the shiny on the first one) making the process much faster after the first one. Say the one I got was Sassy instead of Serious, the table says I might’ve hit 6201 or 6276 I’d guess the closest one for now and tell EonTimer that my “Frame hit” was 6201 and try again with the new timing. If you know your shiny frame is, for example, 6205 with a serious nature, then you can pull up pokefinder and see what gets generated for frames 6150 to 6250. At lv5 IVs are pretty foggy, but natures don’t repeat very often. When you try to hit your frame, you’ll probably miss at first, so you use the IVs, nature, and gender to figure out which frame you did hit. Your SID only determines if the Pokémon is shiny, it’s IVs, nature, and gender are all based on the frame. I did a write-up on it here, if you’ve seen the video then you’ve got the basic idea already. Choppy’s method is a tough place for your dive into RNG, but not impossible. No worries, you’re absolutely on the right track. I'm sorry everyone - I'm trying to research as best I can but I feel so lost! Does anyone know how I can cross check Mudkip's IVs to see if I'm hitting the right frame, etc.? Does Pokefinder have a similar feature, or should I use an outside source? I haven't really been checking Mudkip's IVs, since the video I'm following is using RNGReporter or whatever other program has this feature built into it.I'm also wondering if once I figure out how to calibrate Eon Timer, I should just restart the whole process in getting a TID, in case the calibration was all screwed up. Is this okay? Or would the SID being in there affect what these spreads are? So I guess my question here is: if I have the wrong SID, am I still able to match what Mudkip looks like to one of these frames I think I hit? I have no idea how else to describe this question, I hope someone understands. During this process, I have a random SID that I'm trying input into the top of Pokefinder. is supposed to be for that frame, and that I should look to the adjacent frames to see if I hit one of those instead. I don't understand this process - how can I determine which frame I'm actually hitting? I have a vague understanding that I should see what the nature, etc. I see people talking about calibrating Eon Timer to assist with this. ![]() This is where I get lost.Īs to hitting the right frame in the first place: Next step, I continue to mess around in Pokefinder as best I can without explicit instructions to follow, and I end up typing in a SID number to try (the TID is in there as well), and start trying to hit the earliest shiny frame showing for that particular SID. I determined I should try the SIDs on the frames ranging from 1545 - 1555. Then, I attempted to do whatever he shows in the video to find the range of possible SIDs to try. When naming your character, selecting boy/girl, etc., I timed it to 1500 on Eon Timer rather than 950 like in Choppy's video (I thought this would be easier for me and that it wouldn't make much of a difference). Unfortunately, he isn't using Pokefinder, and it's been hard to find Pokefinder videos using Choppy's particular method. I'm trying to RNG a shiny starter in Emerald, and have been following Choppy's YouTube video to try to figure out the SID. Finally managed to get 2 programs to do this on my Mac - Pokefinder and Eon Timer (I really struggled with being able to access any other programs than these - currently using Pokefinder 3.0.1 and Eon Timer v2.0.1). I'm SUPER new to RNG and am determined to figure it out.
